River of Joy strategies
Communities of faith through the centuries are connected by single mindedness around the shared vision of thy kingdom come and the shared mission of thy will be done. It is what makes us part of the same team that we call the one holy catholic and apostolic church.
Strategies are a different story. Strategies are specific to time and place, culturally informed and unique to specific faith communities. River of Joy uses different strategies in our kingdom work than our brothers and sister who are seeking the kingdom in Tanzania, or Guatemala, or Sweden. Our strategies at River of Joy are even different than our brothers and sister in the urban core or even down the road in Scott County. Strategies are specific to each faith community and grow out of each faith communities strengths and giftedness.
River of Joy’s strategies are simple. We seek to:
- keep Christ at the center of our activity and our discussions
- engage our local and global community
- develop the skills of teaching and passing faith in the home
- grow God’s creative, redemptive, life-giving mission
